RP-Weekly, May 3rd

A NOTE FROM JOHN

Hi RP Family -

This Sunday we have the joy of celebrating the Baptism of one our very own, Devin Henderson. He has a great story which we'll have the opportunity to hear more of, and we'll hear how God brought Jesus into his life. If you haven't seen the dunk tank on the floor of Sullivan High School, this weekend is your chance to do so! And, we'll be cheering Devin on, as we celebrate this important marker in his life with him.

Jesus instituted the sacrament of Baptism. Those of us that follow Christ are called to be baptized. It is a public proclamation of the inward faith in Christ that resides in one's heart. It symbolizes our new identity in Christ, as an outward display of putting to death of the old and being alive in the new. Jesus himself was baptized, and we often scratch our heads asking why he needed to do that, but one clear reason is he wants his people to do so like him and follow his way. When followers of Christ take this step of obedience, it creates a picture to the watching world who our Lord is and our new hope found in him.

We will be having our next Baptism Class in June, so look out for that date and time, if you feel God has been doing a new stirring work in your heart this season. Our next Baptism service will be taking place at Lake Michigan, July 21st. The pastors and elders want to talk to you, if you believe God is leading you this way!

BTW, if you have any extra towels for Sunday let me know! It could get wet!! :))

Warmly,
John, Associate Pastor RP

Serving at Park-RP

When you join a serving team, you're not just volunteering; you're becoming an integral part of our church family. It's where friendships begin, where commitment is strengthened, and where you will truly start to feel like you belong.

Giving at Park-RP

We believe that giving is an act of worship. It recognizes God as the owner and source of all we have. It is our cheerful response to God in praise of His radical generosity towards us.

Neighborhood Partners

Collaboration allows us to leverage our strengths, compensate for our weaknesses, and reach areas and demographics of our city that might otherwise remain untouched.
